Awkward Bird is Awkward.

Today was the day of Megaman's graduation party! I'm not going to lie, it was a little awkward for me until Mrs. Mumford McAvoy showed up. We then gathered up food and sat on the porch for almost the entire party. It was actually quite fun, despite the fact that Jimr and his brother Larry the Lifeguard didn't show up. I was sad :C We talked and talked and discussed a large amount of very interesting things. Also, I'm really not sure how she survived me talking about Jimr for an hour straight. (Once you get me going, it's hard to stop me) I still can't believe you guys haven't just died of boredom listening to me yammer on about him. You claim you love to hear about it, but I don't believe you. :D Alright, well I'm tired, so I'll make this quick. Quote of the day: "Anyone can be passionate, but it takes real lovers to be silly." -Rose Franken. Here's today's photo:
Brag brag brag brag brag. Finally, the word: Bird- any warm-blooded vertebrate of the class Aves, having a body covered with feathers, forelimbs modified into wings, scaly legs, a beak, and no teeth, and bearing young in a hard-shelled egg. Yes,you read correctly. The bird is the word. Goodnight! Love, Colours.

Gravity and Kumquats

Today was my last day of school before summer break and I can honestly say I've not had a better one. The only actual work I had to do was very quick and not difficult, and I got to hang out with Rainy and her boyfriend in the library up until the very last bell. But that's not even the best part. After school let out I went to lunch with my mother, at Mimi's Cafe. It was delicious, and I had the corn chowder which I am obsessed with, but once again, that's not the best part. When we got back I was very sleepy and decided I would take a nap. So I crawled into bed and went to sleep. (Note: I have recently become quite lazy when it comes to putting on pajamas before I get in bed, and this time was unfortunately no exception.) I slept for about three hours when my mother came into the room. She started doing something on the floor right in front of the door and I asked, oh so politely, "Mom, what the hell are you doing?" to which she responded, "There was this pen..on the floor..I was just picking stuff up I guess." I decided the number of fucks I gave was zero, and I just rolled over and went back to sleep. Later I heard my bedroom door open again, and I was about to say, "What now, Mom?" when I opened my eyes and realized that the person standing was most decidedly not my mother. It was Jimr. My mouth dropped open a bit and I'm sure my eyes bugged out in THE most attractive way possible, and I was suddenly hyper-aware of the fact that under my blanket I was only wearing my underwear. "Hi!" he said. "Uh...hi," I stammered. "Um..could you please excuse me for a sec?" He agreed and left the room. I jumped out of bed a quickly shut the door behind him, rushing to throw on the first pair of pajamas I could find. I then raced out to the living room where he left to and proceeded to greet him a little more properly. "Surprise!" my mom said, telling me she was going to invite him to lunch but this worked out better for him. "'Surprise' is right," I said. Then Jimr and I had lovely evening :D (Phone me, please, if you'd like more details :P) and he and my mom made this the best last day of school I've ever had (though it definitely had its embarassing moment, haha). So thank you guys. Now! The Of The Days!: Quote: "Gravitation cannot be held responsible for people falling in love." -Albert Einstein. And today's picture:
I took this on the homeschool campout last weekend and I am soo proud :D And finally, the word: Kumquat- any of several small yellow to orange citrus fruits with sweet spongy rind and somewhat acid pulp that are used chiefly for preserves. Love, Colours. (P.S. Jimr showing up was the best part :B)

Two Graduations and a Party

Well, this is it. Tomorrow is my last day of Freshman Year. I'm not quite sure what to make of it. I know I should be relieved and happy, but something just doesn't feel right. Things are sooo different now, and I think all I want is a little bit of normalcy back in my life. After all, two high school graduations is kind of a lot for a (very emotional) girl to handle. "What graduations?" you may ask. Why, my brother, Megaman, and Jimr's, of course! Here's Megaman:
Megaman's graduation was Sunday and Jimr's graduation was on Monday. I took plenty of video at both, but none of it is going up here (sorry) due to the fact that in the videos people are yelling out the real names of both Megaman and Jimr and what schools they go to, and you know I'm trying to retain some privacy here, so I'll keep those on the DL. But anyway, the whole graduation thing is freaking me out. I swear to god, just yesterday my brother and I were still little and taking baths together, and now suddenly he has a high school diploma and a beard! (Kind of. Seriously, Megaman, shave more often.)I feel about a thousand years old, which is not something a 15 year old should be feeling. And Jimr's graduation freaked me out because it kind of broke the illusion that him going off to college is a long time from now. As long as he was in high school, it was cool. But now he's graduated, and he's leaving in October to go all the way to Utah! He says we have forever, but 4 months is not forever by any stretch of the imagination. I just can't imagine spending 3 (2 or 3 or something. I don't even wanna know.) years without him! I think I'm secretly terrified that he's going to go to Utah and find some girl who is far cooler and prettier and is much more well-versed in computers. (Jimr once asked me what kind of laptop I owned and I said a black one) I have never met anyone quite like Jimr before and I don't want to lose him :(. But anway, let's lighten things up a bit! This Saturday is Megaman's graduation party and Mrs. MumfordMcAvoy is coming, and so is Jimr's brother, who I think I will jokingly call Larry the Lifeguard. Triple M is pretty pumped to meet this guy, for she recently broke up with her (former) boyfriend (Sir Mantitties, I think I'll name him. Let me know if that's too harsh.) and is perfectly ready to look for someone else, preferrably someone who will not treat her like crap. We both decided someone related to Jimr was the answer very quickly. I think awesome is in their blood. Lastly, here are the Of The Days! Quote: "What the world really needs is more love and less paperwork." -Pearl Bailey. Photo of the Day:
I didn't take that one (obviously, I'm in it) but I thought I'd show you guys what Colours USED to look like. Oh, and here's Megaman a bajillion years ago..:
(I'm fairly certain he still has that tie) Finally, the word of the day: Reminisce- indulge in enjoyable recollection of past events. Love, Colours.

A Certain Kind of Gallimaufry

I'm getting quite excited for this campout I mentioned in an earlier post. The last campout I went on with FirePenguinDiscoPanda's homeschool group was the most fun I have ever had, and Lobstah is going to be at this one, so I can't possibly imagine how much fun this one is going to be. I have to bring a giant pile of stuff, including Mad Libs, rainbow socks, and possibly Swedish Fish. All of which are quite useful, obviously. Well, today, I'm not quite in the mood to post anything in specific, so I think you'll now be treated to a hodgepodge of things. First, a goofy video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sBfzZWo-fJ4&safety_mode=true&persist_safety_mode=1&safe=active Next, some good songs(the first is kind of my theme) : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ddd70PMxTE&ob=av2e&safety_mode=true&persist_safety_mode=1&safe=active http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S_oLCJIYOVU&safety_mode=true&persist_safety_mode=1&safe=active http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U9wu-lAQBHw&safety_mode=true&persist_safety_mode=1&safe=active A good set from Polyvore:
A Super Neat Website (It makes lists of words you like): http://www.wordnik.com/ And finally, the Of The Days: Picture
Quote: "Go into the world and do well. But more importantly, go into the world and do good." -Minor Myers Jr. Word: (It's actually quite appropriate) Gallimaufry- a hodgepodge, jumble; a mixture of diverse things. Try to make your own hodgepodge of stuff today! Love, Colours.

Simple Sentence Day

Today is simple sentence day. I am sorry I did not post this weekend. I will not this weekend either because I will be on a campout. I got a new swimsuit this weekend. It is red. I like it. Here is the quote: "To live is the rarest thing in the world; most people just exist." -Oscar Wilde. Here is today's photo:
And today's word: Apolaustic-wholly devoted to the seeking of enjoyment. Enjoy simple sentence day! :D Say your own simple sentences. Love, Colours.

Art Club Historian Needs a New Swimsuit

So today I arrived at the very last Art Club of the school year to find that I had been chosen to be on the "government" of Art Club next year. I was confused, as I had not run for any office nor had I turned in a sheet. But I was reminded that I had volunteered for a position the previous Art Club meeting and I guess that was enough! So, I am now Art Club's brand new Historian for next year! (Mrs. MumfordMcAvoy is also a Historian, which is a position where your job is mostly to take pictures and document as much of Art Club as possible.) 1979 is now Vice President, and Rainy is secretary! Yay for art! And now, I need you guys' help with something. Next weekend I'm going on a camping trip (with FirePenguinDiscoPanda and Lobstah, who is visiting from Maine!!!) and I am planning on purchasing a new bathing suit. I have a few here to choose from and I was hoping I could get some opinions. Here they are:
In case it influences you decision, I am planning on finding something to go with this particular pair of shoes:
Opinions and comments are appreciated, whether in real life or on here. Also, here's today's quote: "I am who I am today because of the choices I made yesterday." -Eleanor Roosevelt. And here's today's fun new word: Filbert- either of two Eurasian hazels; Corylus avellana and C. maxima. And lastly, today's photo! :
Took this pic in a greenhouse while visiting ADDRESS WITHHELD with FirePenguinDiscoPanda and her parents. Who knew amish/mennonite towns were so much fun? Love, Colours

The Phantasmagorical Starbucks Guy

Today's post is dedicated to Mrs. MumfordMcAvoy, who was happier today than I'd seen her in a long time and possibly even ever. She looked beautiful this morning (as per usual, but especially this morning) and discussed at length her enthusiasm for a man we have come to refer to as Starbucks Guy. "He's just so cute!" she gushed, a common sentiment when it came to topic of Starbucks Guy. "He was there on Tuesday. He wasn't working, though, he was just there as a customer. He said, 'Hey, Mrs. MumfordMcAvoy, did you actually order something to drink this time?' and I said yes, my sister behind me and giggling the whole time." " Do you think he came just to see if you would order a drink this time?" I asked. "Just for you?" " I don't know! But wouldn't that be cool?!" she squealed, her brown eyes growing to equal the size of teacups. I'm sure that if you looked into them hard enough, you could see little signs declaring, 'I Love Starbucks Guy!' I said that sometime I should accompany her to the Starbucks, so I could once and for all witness this legendary God of Java for myself. We settled on Friday. I'm bringing my camera. So congratulations on your newfound freedom, Triple M. We all wish you good luck with Starbucks Guy, (he's a tad older, but Juliet was not quite 14 when she and Romeo hooked up, so no matter :D) and we love you. And now for other matters! Here's today's quote: (Another Dr. Seuss) "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened." -Dr. Seuss. And Today's Picture:
Took that for a school project. Don't like kids, but they were great models. And lastly, today's fun new word~!: Phantasmagorical- 1. Having a fantastic or deceptive appearance, as something in a dream or created by the imagination. 2.Having the appearance of an optical illusion, especially one produced by a magic lantern. 3. Changing or shifting, as a scene made up of many elements. Sleep well, everyone! (And thank you to whoever viewed my blog in Germany. That's so cool.) Love, Colours

Life's a Little Weird

Quote of the day! : "We are all a little weird and life's a little weird, and when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it love." -Dr. Seuss. And today's picture of the day:
This is my favorite of Jimr. <3 More later today! (It is now Wedesday and I have posted nothing more about this day. Sorry I lied.) Love, Colours.

1979's Birthday

Guess what? It's 1979's birthday! Happy Birthday! Okay, here's today's picture of the day:
I like to call it Kansas Sunset. Technically it's not in Kansas, but that's what I think of when I look at it. Love, Colours.

Exposition

I would like to start by saying this: Do NOT check out my other blogs. They are embarassing. I would delete them, but I don't know how, and even if I did, I don't think I'd have the heart to. They may suck, but they're a part of me. Second Order of Business: I thought I'd give you a little background on myself. Here's some important people in my life I may at some point mention:
That's Jimr. (For privacy reasons I'm calling everyone by a nickname of my choosing.) He's the wonderful man I mentioned in my profile.
This is my dad. I may refer to him as Bill Nye.
This is Mum. I'm not English, but that certainly sounds cooler, no? (Also, I think she might kill me for using this photo but it's the only one I had on my computer)
This is FirePenguinDiscoPanda, my very best friend. We've been friends since we were two and we met at library storytime. I'll most likely mention her very often.
This is Lobstah. She is one of FirePenguinDiscoPanda and I's nearest and dearest friends. She's super awesome and pretty, but she's also a butt because she moved to Maine and left us behind. Like a butt.
This is 1979. She's one of my longtime schoolfriends. We met in the second grade and bonded over Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. She liked Donatello. I liked Michaelangelo. She's also an amazingly talented artist.
This is Platypus. She is another longtime schoolfriend. We met in the fifth grade and we quickly became friends. She is hilarious and most certainly NOT a horrible person for dropping a spoon on the floor at my house, despite what she says.
My friend Link is on the left. She's another of my close schoolfriends. She is a big goof and is great at nail art. I'll never forget the day she came to school with Nyan Cat fingernails. She is left-handed and makes spectacular birthday cards.
This is Rainy, my schoolfriend who in real life shares the same name as me. She is by far the strongest person I know, period.
This is Mrs. MumfordMcAvoy, my last schoolfriend. She is super-hot but refuses to believe it when people tell her. She also has great taste in music and adores retro things are much as I do. She rocks.
This is my dog, Ellie, which is short for Elvira. Her full name is Elvira Brigitte Ginger Fonzarelli (insert my true last name here). I can release her name because she is a dog and dogs are cool with that. Also, if my dog was a porn star, her name would probably be Cocoa Lovemuffins. Just saying. Ellie is the closest I will ever get to having a child. (True children disgust me)
And, finally, this is me, Colours. I have a profile to the right there, so I don't need a bio! :3 Alright, if I ever introduce any more "characters" in this "story" I will try to include a photo so you can get a general idea of what they look like. I like to share my photography, so I'll try to post a daily photo until I get all my favorites up, but I'm rather forgetful so if I do not, I'm sorry. I'll also be posting things like pieces of my art, words I love, funny things from the internet, journal entries, and gobs (if I don't forget) of other stuff. Also, I ask that if you begin to read this blog and you know me in real life and the other people I mention, refer to them by the nickname I've given them ONLY. Lastly, I'm not counting on many readers, but if you happen to stumble upon this blog and enjoy it, thank you already! May your life be filled with beauty, joy, and colour.
